Sunshine Coast Airport Expansion

This includes a new 2,430m runway, an upgraded passenger terminal with expanded retail, and enhanced public transport. Construction began in March 2019, with the new runway set to be completed by late 2020, providing access to growing domestic and international markets.

Kawana Health Precinct

The project includes the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Sunshine Coast Health Institute, and Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital. It is forecasted to contribute a substantial $3.2 billion to the overall economy of the Sunshine Coast Region and generate more than 3,000 jobs annually during its development phase. This initiative stands as one of the most significant infrastructure projects ever undertaken on the Sunshine Coast.

Proposed Light Rail

Currently in progress are plans for a light rail system connecting Caloundra, Kawana, Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland, and the Maroochydore City Centre. The goal at this point is to finalize the project by 2025.
